An important segment of the NobelST Project was a working lunch with the best students from Split and Nobel laureate Professor Tim Hunt. General idea behind this sort of gathering is to make scientific work more readily approachable to students and to have a Nobel prize winner answer their scientific and non scientific questions in a more relaxed atmosphere.

As part of the NobelST Project and the public lecture, Mayor Željko Kerum and Deputy Mayor Anđelka Visković welcomed Nobel laureate Tim Hunt at the Villa Dalmatia, an event that sparked great media interest.

We received official confirmation that Nobel prize winner, Sir Timothy Hunt will visit Split on June 8th. Mr. Hunt’s lecture is entitled How to win the Nobel Prize: the secrets of cell division. Admittance to the lecture is once again free for all visitors.

The NobelST project continues. After the visit from Israeli Nobel prize winner Aaron Ciechanover in September 2008, Britain’s Nobel prize winner, Sir Tim Hunt is arriving to Split on June 8th 2009. Mr. Hunt Professor is the winner of the 2001 Nobel Prize in Medicine.
